Social Media
There is nothing really sociable about social media. Being social is about getting together. What is called social media does the opposite. Social gatherings, Intertwining in each others lives, meeting new people, smiling into their eyes. (not smilies) Going to a social, starting a social, is what social means. It is about people interfacing each other, not computer interfaces and algorithms. Social, socialism, being sociable is a human healing idea. Replacing this by emails is anti social.
The Corporate Media/ Facebook
The corporate media cares little about "social" in any permutation of the word. Facebook is about collecting "social data" in order to make money from it. Social media in this context is fraudulent. An infringement on peoples privacy, highly exploitative and produces unsociable billionaires.
When we are reduced to depend on such devices it is useful to know how to use them properly and avoid them using you.
